Windy Day's
I happened to stop by the beach today on the way to work. It is Tuesday May 13, 2014. The wind's have been picking up lately as they usually do in early summer. Now is the time to start planning the trips over to the Bahamas! I hope by early June we will see nothing but quiet, calm seas and beautiful days filled with sunshine! The Hollywood boardwalk here in Florida is usually filled with people running down the beach but today I found it pretty quiet. Empty. Serene. Unfortunately my time here on the beach was limited as I was already running late to get back into the office. My Jeep Wrangler is in the foreground. Ocean conditions were reported as 2-4 but honestly in the distance they looked to be 4-6 with a short wavelength. The ocean is nothing to mess with on days like this, they can surely be brutal. Just the other day we had a capsized vessel not far offshore here in Florida due to a 12 foot wave coming out of nowhere.

Got my toes in the sand...
"Got my toes in the sand..." was filmed this past Saturday. We went out on our Yamaha Waverunner's to do some wave jumping and exploring the South Florida coast. It was a typical day until we ran into a broken Sea Doo. Pretty typical for these waters. This particular jet ski ran out of coolant. We tried filling it back with water but unfortunately did not have enough. Not to worry, the Sea Doo recovered and continued on with its day after stopping by the local boat ramp!
We prefer Yamaha because they are water cooled from whatever you are riding on. Many people believe that salt water will kill this engine but with proper flushing at the end of the day with Salt Away there has never been an issue. Reliability is key when going far away from home! Also, to keep the sun out from our face we had some Hoo Rag's with us, pretty cool product and has many uses. We did not run into many creatures, just a crab that we were able to get on film near Key Biscayne National Park. Enjoy the video!

Why Shelby is awesome...
Because she is the luckiest girl in the world! Shelby loves riding without doors or the top in my Jeep Wrangler JKU! She is a big girl and almost 11 years old. I remember when we drove through Gatlinburg with the family and Shelby had her head out of the window. One of the locals saw her and said "Awww look at that little girl." Shelby is more like an iceberg LOL At least that't what we call her. She has a small head and a 114 lb body. She is a pure breed Golden Retriever. When we had Morgan he was a huge fan of the Mustang GT Convertible I had at the time. He loved riding with the top down. I remember the first time we invited him for a ride he thought the Mustang was some sort of a transformer! But after one ride he was hooked!!!
Gators?
We went out to see the meteor shower that was slated to come down today in the wee hours of the morning. It is supposed to last a few days actually. Unfortunately it was pretty cloudy so we did not get the full view we expected. We decided to drive down some deserted road in the middle of Florida and look for gators. We did see some, but catching them on camera was close to impossible. Tested out the new lights on the jeep though! Thank god we kept the top on the truck today, the mosquitoes were buzzing all around us. We thought we saw someone riding a bike out in the distance but turns out it was just the fire flies coming back and forth probably investigating what this 4000lb behemoth was doing on their property!

A beautiful sunset I took on the way home from work
It was a beautiful sunset as I drove home from work today. Decided to snap a quick picture :) I took this out of the Jeep Wrangler. We don't get many nice sunset's like you guys on the west coast of the US! I once camped on the beach in California and let me tell you, the sunset's there are breathtaking!

The Night of the Storm
The ocean is absolutely beautiful tonight. I took this in Haulover, Florida. We were waiting for the rain to come on this cloudy day and I was able to snap this before anything came down. Love this view!

Quick spin in the Mako
We took out the Mako 264 for a quick spin to the ocean. It was a bit windy today but the ocean conditions were easily bearable. Twin Mercury Optimax's sure like to sing at higher RPM's!

When jet ski's don't run right...
Took a look at a friends Yamaha FX FZR Waverunner today. He complained about the jet ski running weird and shaking at low rpms. He said he felt a decrease in speed and acceleration. I took it for a quick spin and realized that it felt like it was running on all of 3 cylinders! Well we took it back to the house and decided to investigate. It looks like the spark plugs finally gave out! This is very typical on the Yamaha line. If you ever have any rough riding Yamaha check the spark plugs first. They can get easily fouled out and need replacement. Below is a picture of the spark plug in cylinder #3. This is a 2009 Yamaha FX FZR with 120hours of ride time (2nd Spark Plug change to date). After we put in the new spark plugs we fired it up and it ran like new again! Also managed to change the oil at the same time :)

Jet Ski to Bahamas and back in one day...PWCFLORIDA
We departed Miami, Florida on August 4th at 6:30AM. The weather forecast showed 1-2ft smooth seas for most of the day. On this trip we ran with 3 Yamaha Jet Ski's and a Mako 264 CC. We ran into a water spout, a whale, and lots of adventure! Enjoy the video. Brought to you by Pwcflorida! Find us on Facebook! Filming was done using a Go Pro 3 HD Black 1080P @30FPS and down scaled for YouTube.

January 7, 2014 Hollywood Beach, Florida
Today I stopped at the beach. The weather in Miami has been very windy and gusty, around 20-30MPH. I decided to check out the waves halfway between Miami and Ft.Lauderdale. They seemed to be very calm....until I looked a few miles offshore. In this area the gulf stream is very close to shore. The waves in the gulf stream had to be 7-10ft!
