2/25/2012 AMAZING TRIP!

Had an amazing time with my friends today. We found water that closely resembled that of the Bahamas and my pool! It was so clear we could see for miles. We also did some snorkeling and saw some 5ft tarpon. Enjoy the video!

Miami Boat Show 2012

Today we decided to visit the Miami International Boat Show! It was sponsored by Progressive Insurance this year and let me tell you it was quite a show. I have been going to the boat show for many years and it seemed to me like it was dwindling down but not for 2012! Money must be good because there was a line for tickets throughout the day not only to enter the show but to find parking. I was lucky enough to find $15 parking very close to the show! Seadoo also sent me a free ticket, lucky me. Maybe they are trying to get me to switch from Yamaha LOL. Anyway's, we are thinking about purchasing a bigger boat in the future so the boat show sure showed us some great choices. I really liked the Intrepid lineup and of course Midnight Express. When I hit the lotto I will definitely purchase one! Enjoy the pics.

The wheels you see on the boat allow it to be driven out of the water and onto dry land. The system is called Sea-Legs and honestly it is pretty cool!

On the way to the show we saw what looked to be a 19-21 foot open fisherman cruising down the street. Wonder what it is registered as...

Texas highway patrol boat. I guess they collect a lot of money in fines because to build this thing costs a small fortune.

This is a view of the cabin. Most of the boat is surrounded by bulletproof glass and shields.

Mercury Power baby!

Too fast for me

I thought this was a pretty cool angle. This boat was in the $200,000 range

While at the show I also discovered my future truck. This thing is a beauty! 6 door.

LOL @ this boat name that was being cut for a customer

2/11/2012

The weekend was off to a bad start. Friday was windy and having spent it at the Dentist office I needed to get out for a bit. The usual crew decided to go out. Louis had a change of plans and was not able to go fishing so he decided to join in and Jose is a merman, there's no need to even ask, hes there! I woke up and it was completely quiet. When we got to the boat ramp it was almost empty with just a few cars. According to the boatus.com website, weather conditions called for 4-6 and then 6-8 later on in the day with 20+mph gusts. We decided that it would be great to go do some ocean jumping. Well we got quite a shocker when the ocean was completely flat! I'm talking like a lake! You can see for yourself in the pictures, I will let them do the talking. No video this time, sorry ladies and gentleman!

Louis a bit disappointed with the weather conditions. But it made for a fun 60+ mile ride north!

Jose trying to decide if a swim is a good idea. It was in the low 60's air temp

The ocean with the 4-6 ft waves LOL More like 4 inches

3/4 tank still going strong!

2/5/2012 was an uneventful day. My friend Jose asked me if I wanted to go for a quick spin and since I had a full tank I said why not. We ended up cruising around 40 miles around the bay and into the ocean. The ocean was around 4-6 feet and the inlet was absolutely crazy. Wave jumping was great in the inlet but the further you went into the ocean the worse it got. Waves were coming from all directions. I have to say people in Miami are a bit crazy, there was a 20 foot boston whaler going fishing in these conditions who almost lost it. Anyways, here are a few pics...
